The Atlanta Falcons are adding to their offensive weapons.

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Falcons have agreed to trade for Los Angeles wide receiver Van Jefferson.

In exchange, the Falcons are sending a 2025 sixth and seventh-round pick to LA.

Jefferson, who was competing for targets against notable rookie Puka Nacua and top wideout Cooper Kupp, played in every game for the Rams so far this season, logging eight catches on 15 targets for 104 yards and no touchdowns.

He'll now join a Falcons receiving room led by Drake London, Mack Hollins and Sotty Miller.

The move might come as quite a surprise, but head coach Arthur Smith is very familiar with Jefferson's father and NFL coach, Shawn Jefferson.

The two coached together on the Tennessee Titans staff for three seasons, from 2013 to 2015. At the same time, Van was playing high school football near the Brentwood/Nashville area at Ravenwood.

Though he was just four years old, Van is also no stranger to Atlanta as he watched his dad play for the Falcons from 2000 to 2002.

Jefferson will also reunite with his former college teammate from Florida and current Falcons' tight end, Kyle Pitts.

Reports had circulated earlier Tuesday that the Rams were looking for a trade partner for Jefferson and it didn't take long for them to find one in Atlanta.

The coaching circle in football is truly a small world and a deep connection like this one is a big reason why the Falcons landed a solid trade deal within a few hours.
