Former Atlanta Falcons star wide receiver Julio Jones isn't throwing in the towel just yet after signing a one-year deal with the Philadelphia Eagles, the team announced Tuesday afternoon.
The 34-year-old wideout hasn't played since last season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, logging a disappointing 24 catches for 299 yards with two touchdowns in 10 games.
However, it wasn't too long ago that Jones shined bright in Atlanta.
In 2019, Jones made his seventh-consecutive Pro Bowl, finishing the season with 99 receptions for 1,394 receiving yards and six receiving touchdowns. He finished second in the league in receiving yards and sixth in receptions.
After an injury-plagued 2020 season, the Falcons traded Jones to the Tennessee Titans in exchange for a second-round pick, where he was injured again.
In 12 seasons, Jones has reeled in 903 receptions for 13,629 yards and 63 touchdowns.
Three years later, Jones still leads the Falcons franchise in receiving yards (12,896), receptions (848), single-season receiving yards (1,871), single-season receptions (136), 100-yard games (58) and 1,000-yard seasons (seven).
Now in Philly, he'll reunite with his former Titans teammate and fellow wideout, A.J. Brown, who actually recruited him to Tennessee in the first place.
The Eagles will likely use him as a third-string wide receiver with Quez Watkins on injured reserve, but he'll also work as a mentor amongst a relatively young Eagles offense.
