The Atlanta Falcons will once again be hosting a local pro day, working out 2025 NFL Draft prospects from the Atlanta-metro area, or those who have attended Georgia, Georgia Tech or Georgia State.
Among the players who will attend is wide receiver Isaiah Bond. Although he played at Alabama and Texas during his collegian days, Bond is a Georgia native – attending Buford High School from 2018-2021. There he excelled not only in football, but was also a track and field star.
Bond played for the Crimson Tide from 2022-2023, then transferred to Texas following the retirement of legendary coach Nick Saban. Throughout his three years with Alabama and the Longhorns, Bond recorded 99 receptions for 1,428 yards, 101 rushing yards, and 11 total TDs. His 15.9 yards per catch average in 2024 was a career-high.
Bond is highly touted for his top-end speed. He vowed to break Kansas City Chiefs WR Xavier Worthy's all-time NFL Scouting Combine 40-yard dash record, but came up short. However, Bond improved his time during Texas' pro day, clocking in at 4.34. Speed isn't his only good trait, as he is a smooth route runner and has good hands.
The only thing really working against Bond is his lack of game production. He was a bit underutilized at both Alabama and Texas, so he may need some time to develop in a rotational role as a rookie in the NFL. If Atlanta were to select him, Bond would have luxury to learn behind WRs such as Drake London, Darnell Mooney, and Ray-Ray McCloud.
The WR position isn't exactly a huge need for the Falcons, but it's never a bad idea to surround a young franchise quarterback with too many weapons. Adding Bond to an already solid WR corps would set Michael Penix Jr. up nicely as he looks to establish himself in 2025. Bond could also be a difference maker for Atlanta on special teams as a return man.
