If you've watched a Notre Dame game this football season then there's a good chance you know the name "Audric Estime."
That's because the junior standout has been a huge reason for their success this season, rushing for a total of 672 yards on 95 attempts and seven touchdowns through six games so far.
When Estime isn't making big plays for the Irish, he's watching the NFL and taking notes, specifically from Atlanta Falcons' start-studded running back Bijan Robinson.
During the Sept. 23 NBC broadcast where Notre Dame took on Ohio State at home, the announcers revealed that Estime watches Robinson every week because "he's a big guy who can play like a small guy."
Robinson, who is just a rookie and was Atlanta's first-round pick in April, has rushed for 318 rushing yards on 53 attempts through four games this season. He also has 19 catches for 134 yards and a touchdown.
Estime is smart for trying to model his game after Robinson, considering they already both share similar qualities.
The former Texas product is the same height as Estime, both standing at 5-foot-11, which is typical for an NFL running back. Estime weighs 10 pounds heavier than Robinson, who is 216 pounds, though he's shed some pounds since joining the league.
The key similarities that come into play for both running backs are how fast they can run for their size and the way they gracefully weasel their way around and through defenders.
Take a look below:
Sometimes they both even act as bulldozers.
As a junior, Estime is eligible to declare for the 2024 NFL Draft.
Right now he's projected to be a Day 2 prospect, but at this rate, he's making a case to go much higher off of the draft board–and taking notes from Robinson will only continue to help his draft stock rise.
