It is not the update the Baltimore Ravens faithful wanted

On Tuesday, as the rest of the NFL cut down its rosters to 53, the Ravens placed second-year running back Keaton Mitchell on the PUP list, meaning he will not be able to play the first four weeks of the regular season

Mitchell suffered a torn ACL in a 23-7 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 15 of the 2023 season.

Before his injury, Mitchell, an undrafted free agent out of East Carolina, was having a stellar rookie season. He only appeared in eight games with two starts but racked up 396 yards and two touchdowns while averaging an outstanding 8.4 yards per attempt.

The Ravens know Mitchell's speed is coveted. However, as he returns from an ACL injury, the team merely hopes it returns.

For now, with the Ravens touting Derrick Henry in the backfield, Mitchell won't be needed right away
