Bill Belichick always instilled one message in his players on the offense while running the ball into the end zone. And, of course, it had to do with ball security.
He told his players to never try and dive into the end zone, fearing that a defensive player could knock it away. And that's exactly what happened to Baltimore Ravens star rookie Zay Flowers during the AFC Championship game against the Kansas City Chiefs.
So after the play happened, former New England Patriots running back Danny Woodhead sent a clear message.
That entire drive was very rough for Flowers, who got a massive catch that was partly erased after he was called for taunting. And soon after, Jackson located the rookie and he aimed to get into the end zone for the second time in the game.
But L'Jarius Sneed had other ideas, knocking the ball out of his hands in the end zone. And the Chiefs recovered the ball resulting in a touchback.
This was a clear rookie mistake and one that severely cost the Ravens. Ultimately, the team wasn't even able to force overtime, falling to the Chiefs 17-10.
But Flowers isn't the only one to blame. The entire offense struggled, while Kansas City's defense excelled.
And Woodhead also provided his thoughts on that one as well.
So let's just say, this is one Flowers, Lamar Jackson, and the rest of the Ravens team is going to want back.
