The Pittsburgh Steelers recently bolstered their depth at the linebacker position.
The Steelers signed Jeremiah Moon, who was an exclusive rights free agent, to a one-year, $915,000 deal earlier this week.
Moon was waived by the Baltimore Ravens mere days before this past season’s AFC title game. It did not take him long to find a new home in the NFL, as the Steelers claimed him off waivers one day later. Pittsburgh was awarded the claim following Super Bowl 58.
Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta was the one who provided Moon with his first opportunity in the NFL. He is expecting a "great career" from the second-year linebacker.
"Jeremiah, a very hard-charging guy," DeCosta said during a press conference at the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine. "Good on special teams. I think he's a developmental outside backer. Strong and physical. Great attitude.
"I think he's going to have a great career, definitely."
Moon signed with the Ravens as an undrafted free agent following the 2022 NFL Draft. He made his NFL debut in the 2023 season, and he featured in eight games in the campaign. He took part in a combined 241 snaps over the year, with 99 of them coming on the defensive side of the ball.
Moon was waived a total of three times by the Ravens during the 2023 season. He tallied 12 total tackles and two forced fumbles while with Baltimore.
