Speculation has continued to mount regarding the possibility of the Baltimore Ravens signing Derrick Henry in March.

The Ravens currently boast the best odds to sign Henry next month. Henry played the 2023 season on the final year of the multiyear contract that he signed off on with the Tennessee Titans in 2020.

Former Super Bowl-winning guard Willie Colon does not believe that it would be best for the Ravens to bring in Henry. Colon sees that such an addition would simply not bode well for Baltimore’s offense.

"Listen, he's a durable back, been injured one time," Colon said during a recent airing of "The Carton Show."

"But what the Baltimore Ravens need to understand is that, in the AFC Championship, when your identity needed to come to fruition, you ran away from it. You don't have a running back problem, you have a Todd Monken problem. … But Derrick Henry right now, yes, he's a downhill back. He's that old-school, gritty, run-between-the-tackles type guy, but they need a running back who can also catch the ball out the backfield."

Colon went on to claim that Henry is "horrible in the pass game." Henry did emerge as more of a go-to option in Tennessee’s pass offense over the last two seasons, combining for 61 receptions and 612 receiving yards. So, one could say that Colon’s comments about the four-time Pro Bowler being "horrible" in the passing game may be a stretch.

Colon did add that a running back like Saquon Barkley "makes sense" for the Ravens. As with Henry, Barkley is set to become an unrestricted free agent next month.

Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta sure will have multiple options to soon bolster his team’s depth at the running back position.
