The Baltimore Ravens entered their regular season opener against the Houston Texans with just two injury concerns; they ruled out both Mark Andrews and Marlon Humphrey from the contest. A mere two weeks later, Baltimore's injury list has grown by quite a lot.
The Ravens have ruled out seven players from their upcoming Week 3 home matchup against the Indianapolis Colts. Overall, a total of 10 Ravens players will miss the team’s upcoming clash with the Colts, including J.K. Dobbins, Ar'Darius Washington, and Tyus Bowser. Dobbins and Washington are currently on the injured reserve list, while Bowser was placed on the reserve/NFI list ahead of the season.
Ravens head coach John Harbaugh sees at least one silver lining with the team’s early season injury woes.
"It becomes a concern if they're going to be season-ending injuries," Harbaugh said during a press conference on Friday. "Those are the ones that you really hope to avoid, [and] you pray to avoid. We've had two of those. We've had J.K. [Dobbins] and possibly Ar'Darius [Washington]. Now that's not set in stone yet, but the rest of the guys are a few weeks, one week, [or] two weeks.
"We thought we would have a couple of guys back this week, [but] they'll be working for next week. So, they're right in that range. So, that's the good news."
The Ravens will call on multiple players to up their game on Sunday, including Patrick Mekari, who is slated to fill in for Ronnie Stanley out at the left tackle position for the second straight contest. Harbaugh has much confidence in all of the players on the team who are set to fill in for those who have been ruled out for Week 3.
"I feel good about the guys that are going to get an opportunity to play this week," Harbaugh said.
"They're excited."
The Ravens are eyeing a 3-0 start for the first time since the 2016 season.
