Lamar Jackson upped his game in the Baltimore Ravens' 27-24 win over the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 2.
A week after he made his long-awaited return to action, Jackson looked cool, calm and collected leading the Ravens offense on the day. The one-time NFL MVP award winner anchored five scoring drives, and he posted a 112.8 passer rating against Cincinnati. He also shared the football around on offense, as a total of seven players caught at least one pass from him.
Ravens head coach John Harbaugh was much pleased with Jackson’s overall performance on Sunday.
"I thought Lamar played great football," Harbaugh said during a postgame press conference. "Lamar played winning football.
“When he got on rhythm early, he hit some passes and made some huge plays throwing the ball down the field. The play to Zay [Flowers] that started off the second half was as good as it gets, and Zay made a great catch. …Then of course what he did with his legs was a difference maker in the game."
Jackson’s competitiveness and sheer will to win is what continues to stand out to Harbaugh.
"Lamar wants to win," Harbaugh said. "That's what Lamar's all about. He wants to win, and then he wants to help his teammates win. [I'm] just so impressed with his competitiveness and how he played today."
Jackson now holds a 7-1 career record against the Bengals.
The Ravens will now look ahead to a Week 3 home clash with the Indianapolis Colts.
