The Baltimore Ravens have had a bit of an issue in taking care of the football this season.
The Ravens have fumbled a total of 18 times this year, with 10 of them coming from Lamar Jackson. Overall, Baltimore is tied with four other teams for the fourth-most fumbles lost (nine) in the season. The Minnesota Vikings lead the way in fumbles lost with an astounding 14 through 11 games played.
The Ravens are set to face a Los Angeles Chargers team in Week 12 that is tied with three other squads for the most fumble takeaways (nine) this season.
Ravens head coach John Harbaugh has regularly stressed to his team the sheer importance of ball security, and he has placed a high emphasis on this matter ahead of Week 12.
"The Chargers have a ton of fumble recoveries," Harbaugh said during a press conference on Friday. "…It's a big part of the game. That's something they do exceptionally well on both sides of the ball, strip sacks being the main part of it.
"They're No. 1 in the league at that, so we have emphasized that, we have built our protections accordingly, and we have to be very conscious of that."
The Ravens tallied four turnovers in their last four games.
Baltimore enters Week 12 sitting atop the AFC North standings with an 8-3 record.
