Lamar Jackson does not mind at all being deemed as an underdog — a role that he much cherishes playing.
"I'm cool," Jackson said ahead of Baltimore’s road game against San Francisco. "I don't want them to pick us. I like being the underdog. I believe we play better when we're doubted and [when] people aren't choosing us to win the game.
"I feel like we play better all the time, so just do it all the way to February. That's all I ask."
As with Jackson, Marlon Humphrey is using the odds for this game as a bit of motivation.
"I was a little surprised at that," Humphrey said on Wednesday. "That hurt my feelings a little bit. I was surprised to see that, but I definitely want to make that be incorrect, for sure. Hopefully, some people lose some money betting with them and make some money betting with us. That'd be great."
The Ravens have entered a game as an underdog just once this season. The Cincinnati Bengals were penciled in as a -3.5 favorite in their Week 2 home matchup against the Ravens, and in the end, Jackson and company had the last laugh with a 27-24 win.
This time around, the Ravens are using their underdog status as bulletin board material. Ravens head coach John Harbaugh revealed on Wednesday that the odds for the contest have been "mentioned" to the team this week.
The Ravens are eyeing a 12-win campaign for the first time since the 2019 season.
