The Baltimore Ravens had a somewhat stressful offseason for a while as quarterback Lamar Jackson was seeking proper compensation, as he should as a former NFL MVP.

Things all came together in April when Jackson got a five-year deal for $260 million. Of course, that was for his greatness on the field, but what Jackson said on Tuesday solidified why the Ravens are putting all of their eggs in his basket.

After the Ravens' joint practice with the Washington Commanders, Jackson had this to say to young children.

"Listen to your parents, listen to your teachers, get great grades, and you can be whoever you want to be," said Jackson

What Jackson said won't help the Ravens dethrone the Cincinnati Bengals in the AFC North or win them a Super Bowl. But that's not the point.

A lot of kids today, unfortunately, don't have any guidance at home, or if they do, it's minimal. Jackson and other professional athletes, whether they accept it or not, are role models to children, and they hang onto their every word.

For all he knows, Jackson may have changed a young person's life by just giving them some hope today, and that's the type of person any franchise would want leading them.

The Ravens got a great one in Jackson.
