The Baltimore Ravens could soon see Marlon Humphrey make his long-awaited return to action.
Humphrey has been sidelined since undergoing foot surgery in August. There was a bit of early concern that Humphrey would miss a bulk of games this year, but Ravens head coach John Harbaugh shut down such talk during a press conference in August, noting that the versatile cornerback is "going to be back pretty early in the season."
Harbaugh is "hopeful' that Humphrey will soon make his way back to the field.
"[Marlon Humphrey] is within the range," Harbaugh said during a press conference on Monday. "There is no gold [standard] … I've said it many times. You can't say a date. He's in the range, so I'm hopeful he will get back this week.
"I was hopeful he'd get back last week, and if it's not this week, it will probably be next week. He's in the range right now, right in the area right now. So, we'll see what happens."
Humphrey has not featured in a single practice session with Baltimore so far this season.
The Ravens are also keeping a close watch on several other players who are currently nursing injuries, including Morgan Moses and David Ojbao. Harbaugh said on Monday that the team does not believe that Moses, who came away from Baltimore’s road win over the Cleveland Browns with a shoulder injury, suffered a "long-term type" ailment during the contest.
On the other hand, there is concern that Ojbao, who is on the injured reserve list due to his ankle and knee injuries, may end up being ruled out for the rest of the season.
"[David Ojabo] is still being evaluated," Harbaugh said. "He's got this … There are decisions that have to be made that he has to make, in terms of how he wants to approach the injury issue that he has. It's just kind of … I think that's still private and his concern. So, I would just say that is up in the air."
Ojabo has tallied six total tackles and 1.0 sacks in three games played this season.
