Former LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels has drawn plenty of comparisons to Baltimore Ravens passer Lamar Jackson.
As Jackson has done so over the years, Daniels had his way both in the air and on the ground in his 2023 Heisman Trophy-winning campaign. He made tremendous strides as a passer in the season, and he often had opposing defensive linemen look foolish as they attempted to bring him to the ground.
Daniels wound up tallying an astounding 3,812 passing yards and 50 total touchdowns in what turned out to be his final season at LSU.
Daniels has taken notice of the comparisons that he has received to Jackson, and during a press conference at the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine, he took some time to touch on them.
"Lamar is a great player," Daniels said. "I don't like to compare myself to anybody but there's some similarities in what he's doing.
"He's playing at a very high level, kudos to him. He's the GOAT of this running, throwing. I'm just following suit."
Daniels is projected by many to be selected by the Washington Commanders with the No. 2 overall pick in this year’s NFL Draft. If Daniels does go on to join Washington, then he will square off with Jackson in the 2024 season, as the Ravens are set to host the Commanders for a regular season contest this year.
Florida State’s Keon Coleman says it would be a ‘dream’ to play for the Lamar Jackson-led Ravens offense
Would be a huge addition.
