Baltimore Ravens tight end Mark Andrews is "expected to play" in the AFC title game against the Kansas City Chiefs "barring a setback," according to the NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
Rapoport added that the "target was always the AFC title game" for Andrews to make his return to action.
Andrews has been sidelined since he suffered a reported cracked fibula and ankle ligament injury during Baltimore’s home game against the Cincinnati Bengals in November.
The Ravens designated Andrews to return from the injured reserve list on Jan. 12. The veteran tight end went on to feature in each of the Ravens' three practices last week, but the team ultimately decided not to activate him off injured reserve ahead of the AFC divisional round.
It will be noteworthy to see whether Andrews ends up taking part in all three of Baltimore’s practice sessions this week.
Andrews recorded 45 receptions for 544 receiving yards over 10 regular season games played this year. He tallied at least six touchdown catches for the fourth time in his run with the Ravens.
