On the heels of a statement 28-3 win over the Cleveland Browns, the Baltimore Ravens are now eyeing a 4-1 record for the first time since the 2021 campaign. In the way of the Ravens pulling off this feat are the Pittsburgh Steelers. The two AFC North powerhouses will square at Acrisure Stadium in Week 5.

The Steelers have had the Ravens’ number as of late. Pittsburgh boasts a 5-1 record in its last six meetings against Baltimore, including a dramatic road victory in Week 17 of the 2022 season.

This edition of the Ravens vs. Steelers rivalry should have plenty of fireworks, and here is what A to Z Sports Steelers writer Rob Gregson expects to see in Week 5.

1. The talk of the town within the Steelers so far this season has centered on their woes on offense. From the lackluster passing game to the dysfunction within their offensive line, not much has gone the Steelers’ way on the offensive side of the ball. Just where has it gone wrong for Pittsburgh’s offense?

Honestly, it’s an accumulation of multiple factors, much of which you alluded to. For one, the Steelers' offensive line was strong in the latter half of 2022, they have been anything but thus far, and were supposed to be “upgraded.”

Outside of that, the blame falls squarely on the shoulders of Matt Canada and Kenny Pickett, respectively. Canada has proven inept in playcalling, and Pickett has regressed tremendously, playing flustered, making bad decisions, and even missing passes he could hit in high school.

2. The writing is on the wall that this will end up being Matt Canada’s final season as Steelers offensive coordinator, and he may not even make it through the campaign. If it were up to you, who would you bring in to eventually replace Canada? Would you promote someone from within the organization to take the role, or is there an offensive-minded coach from another NFL team or even in the college ranks who you believe could be just the right fit for this unit?

In my opinion, you have to see if Kenny Pickett is truly your franchise guy, which so far, couldn't be further from the truth. I would hire current Nebraska OC Mark Whipple. Whipple has a history with the Steelers as a former QB coach for the franchise, and he was Pickett’s OC when Pitt won the ACC and Pickett was a Heisman finalist.

3. T.J. Watt has been putting up video game-like numbers this season with 6.0 sacks and 18 total pressures. Will he end up taking home a second NFL Defensive Player of the Year award?

There’s no doubt in my mind that this version of T.J. Watt is the best yet. Fully fledged into his prime at 28 years old, the next two to three years will cement his Pro Football Hall of Fame legacy in my opinion, something another DPOY would only help bolster.

4. Patrick Peterson has had his fair share of struggles through the early stages of the season. He has already allowed four touchdowns and a lowly 112.9 passer rating while in coverage. Did the Steelers whiff on this free agency move, or do you believe that the veteran cornerback still has plenty left in the tank at this stage in his career?

Pat Pete obviously is not the island corner that went to eight straight Pro Bowls in Arizona. Having said that, his issues are more alignment-based than talent at this point in my opinion. He has excelled in the nickel or slot position thus far, yet Pittsburgh keeps him on the perimeter. I believe that as Joey Porter continues to develop, you will see him start to play outside, moving Pat Pete closer to the line of scrimmage.

5. Which team will come out victorious in Week 5?

This is obviously a huge matchup with first place in the division on the line. Pittsburgh is coming off an embarrassing loss, while Baltimore is riding high off a victory against one of the league's best defenses, all the while gaining key starters back from injury. Yet, these are the games when the Steelers and Mike Tomlin shine. When they down and out, looking like a shell of themselves, they tend to rise before the count hits 10. I expect something similar this weekend because if not, it may be time for real change in Pittsburgh.

Steelers win 17-14.
