The anticipation has continued to grow for Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Zay Flowers’ upcoming rookie campaign. The former Boston College standout wowed during the Ravens’ OTAs and his sheer potential as an all-around wideout was on full display during training camp.

NBC Sports’ Peter King is among many who have lauded Flowers from the start. After having a front-row seat to watch Flowers during the early days of the Ravens’ training camp schedule, he called the wideout “the most impressive rookie I have seen in six camps.”

King is also expecting to see a productive rookie season from Flowers. In his weekly “Football Night in America” column, King penciled in Flowers to finish in second place behind Detroit Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs in the voting for the 2023 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year award.

King’s reasoning for picking Gibbs over Flowers for the award was simple.

“Flowers will be more spectacular," King wrote. "Gibbs will produce more yards."

No Ravens player has ever taken home the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year honor. Baltimore has had two players finish as a runner-up for the award in Jamal Lewis (2000) and Michael Oher (2009).

King also predicted that Baltimore would make the playoffs as the No. 6 seed in the AFC with a 10-7. He noted that Ravens offensive coordinator Todd Monken’s offense "should fit Lamar Jackson well—as should first-round receiver Zay Flowers."

The Ravens’ new-look offense will look to open up the season on the right track in the team’s Week 1 opener against the Houston Texans on Sept. 10.
