The NFL keeps punishing players for on-field incidents. On Saturday, the league announced that Baltimore Ravens linebacker Malik Harrison got fined $15,236 because of a play in the third quarter of the team’s win over the Los Angeles Chargers last Monday.

Here is the play — and there was no penalty called on the field:

The play was classified as unnecessary roughness for inappropriate use of the helmet. Harrison was the only Ravens’ player fined in Week 12. This time, there have been 16 fines among 2,216 plays in the NFL — which means that .75% of the plays generated a punishment.

Malik Harrison was a third round pick by the Ravens in 2020. After the expiration of his rookie deal, Harrison re-signed with the team in the offseason, reaching a one-year, $2.742 million contract.

On Monday night, Harrison played 50 defensive snaps (72%) and 23 special teams snaps (85%), showing how versatile he is for the current version of the team.

While it's tough to see football players losing money like that for normal plays, at least it goes to a good cause. The fines collected are donated to the Professional Athletes Foundation to support legends in need.
