Lamar Jackson proved Gisele Bündchen wrong with an impressive play during Sunday's Kansas City Chiefs vs. Baltimore Ravens AFC Championship game.
The ex-wife of seven-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady had one quote that went viral after the New England Patriots lost to the New York Giants in Super Bowl XLVI. And that has now resurfaced.
“My husband cannot (expletive) throw the ball and catch the ball at the same time,” Bündchen said in 2012.
In the second quarter, Jackson's pass was deflected by Chiefs safety Justin Reid, and right below the ball were three Kansas City defenders who were ready to get the interception. However, Jackson had other ideas.
He ran forward, getting in between the defenders and snagged the ball out of the air for a 13-yard gain.
So basically, Jackson threw the ball and caught the ball all in the same play.
Sorry Gisele, but he just proved you wrong.
Unfortunately, Jackson's efforts on this play were not enough to power the Ravens past the Chiefs. Mistakes made by the quarterback along with other members of the team allowed Kansas City to create too much separation. And with that, they punched their ticket to the Super Bowl.
So, Patrick Mahomes is headed back to the Super Bowl and looking to get his third ring. Because of that, the discussions comparing him to Brady have begun. However, he still has a lot more wins he needs to get before reaching that milestone.
