Potential landing spots for Derrick Henry after the Ravens split with head coach John Harbaugh
These are four potential teams who could have interest in trading for Derrick Henry after Ravens split with John Harbaugh.
The Baltimore Ravens are entering a new era. It is one without now former head coach John Harbaugh, and you have to expect some notable roster changes could be made following the split with the veteran HC. The future of the team hangs in the balance, and this offseason will be vital to short and long-term success for the Ravens.
Star running back Derrick Henry could be entering the final chapters of his playing career, so it is worth monitoring if they make him available this offseason.
Ravens could trade Derrick Henry after moving on from John Harbaugh
With that, let’s take a look at some potential landing spots for the future Hall of Fame RB if the Ravens choose to make a deal with him involved.
Dallas Cowboys
This fit makes a ton of sense. Javonte Williams is on an expiring deal, and Jerry Jones already showed interest in acquiring Henry when he signed with Baltimore after starting his career with Tennessee. The Cowboys need tons of defensive help, but Dak Prescott played some of his best ball in 2025. Adding a weapon like Henry to the backfield makes that offense even scarier.
Houston Texans
Speaking of a team from Texas, Houston is another one where it could make sense. Henry could return to the AFC South where the Texans have been searching for a bell cow RB for quite some time. Woody Marks impressed for a rookie this year, but he would be even more valuable if they got a clear cut starter ahead of him. Joe Mixon’s playing future seems cloudy at best.
Kansas City Chiefs
Imagine a Patrick Mahomes offense with Henry alongside him. Okay, maybe don’t do that. It is a bit terrifying to consider – when you think about the lack of upside that the running back spot for KC has had during much of the quarterback’s tenure. They may be interested in rookie Jeremiyah Love during the 2026 NFL Draft, but Henry is another intriguing option, too.
Tennessee Titans
A return to Nashville could be what is nearest to Henry’s heart when he considers where he wants to finish his playing career. The Titans have Tony Pollard under contract for one more season, but there’s also a potential cost-cutting move there if Tennessee wants to move on. This one makes less sense from a team-building standpoint, but it still needed to be included.
Henry’s deal has three void years on the back end of it currently. Accordingly, there is really only two more actual seasons left on the contract. He holds a cap hit just under $6 million for 2026. Regardless, it should be intriguing to see what’s next for Baltimore and their incredible running back.
