The "Monday Night Football" showdown between the Baltimore Ravens and the San Francisco 49ers drew more than 27.2 million viewers across all platforms, ESPN announced on Tuesday.
The highly anticipated meeting between the Ravens and the 49ers was also the second-most watched "Monday Night Football" game since 1996, trailing only the Philadelphia Eagles’ road victory against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 11. This Week 16 contest peaked at 31.4 million viewers during the late stages of the first half.
ESPN added that the audience for the Ravens and 49ers clash was up 59 percent from last season’s primetime matchup on Christmas Day, which featured the Arizona Cardinals hosting the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on NBC.
Overall, the Ravens’ victory over the 49ers is the sixth-most watched regular season game this year, with the Dallas Cowboys’ 45-10 win against the Washington Commanders on Thanksgiving (41.7 million) holding the top spot on the leaderboard. This is also the first time this season that a Ravens game drew at least 20.0 million viewers.
The Ravens ended up cruising to a 33-19 win over the 49ers to move one step closer to clinching the No. 1 seed in the AFC. Lamar Jackson and company will next square off with the Miami Dolphins in Week 17 — a contest that could very well attract at least 20.0 million viewers on CBS.
