Baltimore Ravens are already seeing big changes within their offense under offensive coordinator Todd Monken.

Against the Houston Texans in Week 1, Baltimore saw a huge uptick in 11 personnel from what they did last season with Greg Roman calling the plays.

With the Week 1 numbers, the Ravens are on pace to have three wide receivers on the field for 680 plays. It is a huge jump from last season by more than four times.

Baltimore went out and added pieces to the wideout room to allow them to do this. In the 25-9 win over the Texans, rookie Zay Flowers led the team with nine catches for 78 yards. Odell Beckham Jr. made his Baltimore debut with two catches and 37 yards. Rashod Bateman is healthy this season and had 35 yards in Week 1.

Tight end Mark Andrews did not play in Week 1, so these numbers could and will change. Second-year tight end Isaiah Likely was the only tight end utilized against the Ravens and he was targeted just once.

In the last few years, the lack of wide receiver talent has been something that has bit the Ravens. They added Nelson Agholor alongside Beckham in free agency.

Ravens fans will be delighted to see that Monken looks to be utilizing the wide receiver talent more, something that is needed in today’s game to succeed.
