Baltimore Ravens could find their Justin Tucker replacement south of the border should things go awry with Tyler Loop

It's hard to find human beings that can blast 65-yard field goals during a live football game. Which is exactly why I believe the NFL world would be silly not to look at what happened this weekend in Mexico.

That includes the Baltimore Ravens, who released Justin Tucker—the owner of the NFL's longest field goal ever at 66 yards—in May.

During a game of Mexico's professional football league, the LFA, kicker Jesús Aguirre from the Monterrey Osos made a historic 65-yard field goal.

Aguirre is only 24 years old and is playing his rookie year at the LFA following a collegiate career with Mexico's powerhouse college football program, the Monterrey Borregos.

Now, mind you, Aguirre is as raw as it gets and has been inconsistent in the league. He finished the regular season with 7-of-13 field goals made and went 14-of-22 in PATs. While that's going to turn off many NFL teams, he did make that 65-yard attempt. Perhaps with the proper coaching, he can be a low-risk, high-reward gamble ahead of training camp.

After all, this was during a live game and not a gimmick clip from practice while he's facing no rushers. Aguirre was indeed facing pressure. And he still nailed it with some power to spare.

The Osos are owned by a group of former NFL players including Ryan Kalil, Christian McCaffrey, George Kittle, and others. The group, which also includes former NBA star Blake Griffin purchased the team ahead of the 2025 season.

Who knows if the NFL will give Aguirre a chance but it's hard to ignore when someone makes a 65-yard field goal. In the NFL, it's only been done by Tucker and Dallas Cowboys kicker Brandon Aubrey.

That's gotta be worth a closer look. Let's see if a team reaches out to give the kid a chance in training camp. The Ravens would be wise to do so, specially if things don't go as planned with sixth round rookie Tyler Loop.
