Roquan Smith bolstered his 2023 NFL Defensive Player of the Year resume during the Baltimore Ravens’ Week 6 win over the Tennessee Titans.

With the Titans in desperate need of a touchdown in the late stages of the fourth quarter, quarterback Malik Willis opted to connect with Tyjae Spears on a crucial third down play. Spears zigzagged his way through Baltimore’s defense, and he was mere yards away from scoring the second touchdown of his rookie campaign. However, Smith made sure that the rookie running back would not reach the end zone on the play.

Ravens defensive coordinator Mike Maconald was left in sheer awe of Smith’s hustle and never-give-up attitude on his pivotal tackle.

Macdonald was mic’d up during the Ravens’ matchup against the Titans, and the "Ravens Wired" show shared just what he told the versatile linebacker on the sideline after the play.

"Hey, that's one of the best plays I've ever seen in my life," Macdonald said.

The Titans settled for a field goal on the drive, and they would not receive the football again in the contest, as the Ravens went on to clinch a 24-16 win.

Baltimore moved into first place in the AFC North standings with a 4-2 record following the game.
