A former member of the coaching for the Baltimore Ravens is no longer with us.

Maxie Baughan, who was the Ravens' linebacker coach for three seasons (1996-1998) and worked out Hall of Fame linebacker Ray Lewis before he was drafted, passed away on Saturday at the age of 85.

Baughan was a first-round pick in the AFL Draft and a second-round selection by the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFL Draft in 1960. He played six seasons for them and was a part of their NFL Championship team during his rookie campaign.

The next stint for Baughan would be with the Los Angeles Rams for five seasons (1966-1970). He went back to his alma mater Georgia Tech as a defensive coordinator for two years (1972-1973) before playing his final season in the league in 1974 with the old Washington Redskins.

Baughan was a nine-time Pro Bowler and a seven-time All-Pro during his playing days. He would spend time as a defensive coordinator and linebacker coach in the NFL for the old Baltimore Colts, Detroit Lions, Minnesota Vikings, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before coming to the Ravens organization and is also a member of the Philadelphia Eagles Hall of Fame.
