Mike Tomlin’s future with the Pittsburgh Steelers was quite a storyline over the latter stages of the 2023 season.

Tomlin ultimately shut down such speculation during his end-of-season press conference last month. He confirmed that he will indeed return for what will be his 18th season as Steelers head coach.

Tomlin’s announcement regarding his future in Pittsburgh came as no surprise to Ravens head coach John Harbaugh. Harbaugh never once believed that Tomlin would leave the Steelers after the season — and he can not see him coaching any other team in the NFL.

"No and no," Harbaugh said during a press conference at the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine. "Pretty clear-cut, much respect, much love for Coach Tomlin, for the Steelers organization, for the players."

Tomlin’s future in Pittsburgh may not be a storyline for much longer. Steelers team president Art Rooney II noted last month that when it comes to an extension deal for Tomlin, "It’ll be done when it gets done."

Tomlin, who is the longest-tenured head coach in the NFL, is coming off of one roller-coaster 2023 campaign. He did at the least secure the bragging rights over Harbaugh, as the Steelers completed the regular season sweep over the Ravens for the third time in the last four years.

Overall, the Steelers have won seven out of their last eight meetings against the Ravens.
