Odell Beckham Jr. did not make the stat sheet in the Baltimore Ravens’ Week 8 road win over the Arizona Cardinals.
Beckham failed to record a single catch against the Cardinals despite having been targeted a total of four times by Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson. The veteran wideout did at the least draw three penalties in the contest, including a defensive pass interference penalty in the end zone during the fourth quarter. This late penalty helped set up Gus Edwards’ third rushing touchdown of the game.
Cameras were rolling as Beckham was shown slamming his helmet to the ground after the penalty call.
Ravens head coach John Harbaugh sees that the frustration from Beckham on the sideline was more due to the wideout's sheer aspiration to simply be on the end of game-changing plays.
"[He] just wants to make plays," Harbaugh said during a press conference on Monday. "That's what he wants to do, and you appreciate that.
"I talked to him, actually. He wasn't mad at anybody. He wants to make plays and wants to do great. His son was in the stands — [it was his] first time playing in front of his young son there in Arizona. You know how that goes. That's how guys are."
Overall, Harbaugh has been pleased with Beckham’s early run with the Ravens.
"He's playing really well," Harbaugh said. "I just think it's going to pop. He's going to start getting some big catches for us."
Beckham has tallied 14 receptions for 162 receiving yards this season.
