Starting a new streak

On Monday, the Ravens' 24-game winning streak in the preseason that spanned eight years came to an end in a 29-28 defeat to the Washington Commanders. It'll take a long time before another team tops that, but the Ravens are moving on to bigger things. Figuring out these final roster battles and preparing for the regular season is where the focus lies.

3 Ravens players to watch

  • RB Melvin Gordon: Despite looking solid in training camp, the former first-round pick from 2015 will have to move mountains to crack the roster at running back. The stinger injury rookie Keaton Mitchell sustained last week is not serious, and Gordon is left needing a herculean outing tonight to stick around. Through two weeks, he's rushed for 50 yards on 14 carries.
  • OL Ben Cleveland: Playing both right tackle and right guard this month, the Ravens' third-round selection from 2021 is also fighting to keep a roster spot. Only Daniel Faalele has logged more snaps along the offensive line this preseason in Baltimore. A strong showing tonight would help ensure a third season on the roster for Cleveland.
  • S Daryl Worley: No other player on the roster has more tackles on special teams than the eighth-year safety. But will the Ravens keep five safeties? They may not have a choice, unless Worley convinces them otherwise with a great game.
