Ravens hire Pagano from retirement

John Harbaugh and the Ravens are hiring Chuck Pagano, a former head coach in the NFL, to be their senior secondary coach. He will coach the secondary with Doug Mallory.

Harbaugh's Ravens hired Pagano in 2008. Now, he returns to the organization alongside one of his closest coaching companions.

Pagano had a 53-43 regular-season record with the Indianapolis Colts. He led them to the playoffs three times.

The long-time HC has been retired from the league for four years. During his time in Indy, he battled leukemia and ultimately beat the disease. He stayed with the Colts until 2017.

"It is exciting to add Coach Chuck Pagano to our defensive staff and continue to develop and grow our young and talented secondary," Harbaugh said. "Chuck brings a wealth of knowledge, experience and coaching talent to our team. He has deep ties to the program and is excited to get to work."

Now, Pagano is back in the league and provides major experience and expertise for Baltimore. Their secondary had its issues early on in this past season but improved in a huge way over the final two months of the season.
