Mark Andrews has shattered multiple records in his ongoing run with the Baltimore Ravens, and he could once again do just that in the 2023 season.
As noted by StatMuse, Andrews needs to log at least 1,243 receiving yards this year to break Rob Gronkowski’s record for the most such yards by a tight end in his first six seasons. Gronkowski tallied 5,555 receiving yards in his opening six years with the New England Patriots.
Andrews has emerged as quite a force for the Ravens on the offensive side of the ball. He has registered at least 700 receiving yards and five touchdown receptions in each of his last four seasons with Baltimore. He is coming off a 2022 campaign in which he earned Pro Bowl honors after tallying 73 receptions and 847 receiving yards in 15 regular season games played.
Andrews has yet to make his 2023 debut. The three-time Pro Bowler was ruled out of Baltimore’s Week 1 home matchup against the Houston Texans due to a quad injury. Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said during a press conference on Monday that Andrews "looks good," but it is still up in the air whether the veteran tight end will suit up to play against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 2.
Overall, Andrews has notched 4,313 receiving yards and 34 touchdown catches in 77 total games played with Baltimore.
