Baltimore Ravens cornerback Marlon Humphrey is reportedly set to make his long-awaited return to action.
Humphrey is "expected" to feature for the Ravens in their upcoming Week 5 road matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers, according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler.
Humphrey has been out of action since undergoing foot surgery in August. Even though Baltimore opted against placing the versatile defensive back on the injured reserve list, he still went on to miss the opening four games of its season.
Humphrey returned to practice on Wednesday, where he was a limited participant throughout the session. Ravens head coach John Harbaugh noted after practice on the day that the team aimed to see just how Humphrey responded to the "workload."
"It's one of those things where it's just a matter of the healing process in there taking place in the bone or whatever," Harbaugh said. "So, it looks good.
"We'll see what happens. We just have to see how it responds to the workload — that's the main thing right now."
Humphrey managed to take part in the entirety of the Ravens’ final practice session of the week on Friday, which played into their call to list him as questionable for Week 5. Now, barring a major setback in the coming hours, the three-time Pro Bowler will play for the current AFC North leaders on Sunday.
The Ravens are slated to also have defensive backs Marcus Williams and Jalyn Armour-Davis available for Week 5. Williams (pec) and Armour-Davis (hamstring) were listed on Baltimore’s injury report for its road clash with the Steelers, but they each were not issued any injury designation for the contest.
