The Baltimore Ravens are doing their due diligence when it comes to adding veteran help on the defensive line.
Defensive end Jadeveon Clowney, who spent the previous two seasons with the Cleveland Browns, visited with the Ravens on Tuesday.
The Ravens don't have a ton of experience on the edge with Odafe Oweh going into his third season, David Ojabo, who barely played as a rookie in 2022, and recent fourth-round draft pick Tavius Robinson. So, bringing in Clowney for a look makes sense.
Clowney hasn't gone on to meet the first-round pick expectations that were placed on him but he has racked up 320 tackles, 43 sacks, 23 pass breakups, 13 forced fumbles, eight fumbles recoveries, and three defensive touchdowns during his first nine seasons.
At this point in his career, Clowney may not put up gaudy sack numbers, but he can still get in the backfield and set the edge against the run.
Nothing is imminent when it comes to Clowney coming to Baltimore, but it's something to keep an eye on.
Ravens defender expected to miss the 2023 season
He has an uphill battle.
