The Baltimore Ravens’ fourth quarter woes continued in their home loss to the Cleveland Browns in Week 10.
The Ravens allowed three scoring drives in the final quarter of the contest, including a 12-play, 58-yard one that culminated with a game-winning, 40-yard field goal from kicker Dustin Hopkins.
Ravens head coach John Harbaugh has caught notice of his team’s sluggish play in the fourth quarter, and he hopes to see this trend soon come to an end.
"If we had finished strong in every game, we'd be undefeated, which is what we'd like to be right now, but we're not," Harbaugh said during a press conference ahead of Week 11. "Those three games where we didn't finish the way we needed to, we lost.
"That's what we're working on right now, certainly looking at the details, within it, this, that, whatever the detail might be. That's part of the process. This thing is a journey. You're never set. I think we like to look at it and say, 'OK, this is what they are, and this is what they're going to be all year.' It's like, 'No.' Every team is forging the season as they go, and things happen. … We just know what we have to work on right now to get better, and that's what we're working on."
Ravens' 4th quarter struggles
Baltimore has allowed a total of 13 touchdowns this season, with seven of them coming in the fourth quarter. Overall, the Ravens hold a 7.2 points per fourth quarter allowed average on the season, which is tied with the Jacksonville Jaguars for the second-worst mark among AFC teams.
On the other hand, the Ravens have scored a mere five touchdowns in the fourth quarter this year.
The Ravens will next be in action on Thursday when they host the Cincinnati Bengals.
