Kyle Hamilton was ejected during the third quarter of the Baltimore Ravens’ Week 6 win over the Tennessee Titans.

Hamilton delivered a helmet-to-helmet hit to Titans wide receiver Chris Moore in the red zone. Moore seemed as if he was going to come down with a crucial reception for Tennessee, but he lost possession of the football after being on the end of a head-first hit from the second-year safety.

Moore made his way to the locker room on his own power after the play, while Hamilton was issued a game disqualification for the first time in his career.

One could make a case that Hamilton’s hit on Moore was intentional. From Hamilton’s standpoint, he was simply trying to force an incompletion.

"I was playing [in] the middle [of the field], playing post," Hamilton said after the game. "Had eyes on the quarterback, I saw him throw the ball, [I was] driving on the ball and then turned to look at the receiver [for a] split second. [I] hit him, tried to get the ball out. He came up, shaken up, unfortunately, so praying for him. Hopefully, he’s doing well.

“Hopefully he’s back in a week or whenever he comes back. But yes, nothing malicious about it from my perspective. I wasn’t trying to hurt him. I wasn’t trying to do anything bad. I was just trying to get the ball out."

Hamilton also noted that he "knew it was a flag," but he never received an explanation from the officiating crew for just why he was ejected from the game. Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said during his postgame press conference that he also did not receive any reasoning for the ejection.

In the big picture, Hamilton wishes that he "could take it back."

“[It was the] heat of the moment,” Hamilton said. “I wish I could take it back right now. I wasn’t trying to hurt anybody’s feelings or anything. I obviously just disagree with the call in the moment, not being able to see back. I do agree that maybe a flag should have been thrown.”

Multiple Ravens defensive backs upped their game after Hamilton left the contest, including Geno Stone, who hauled in an interception in the third quarter.

The Ravens moved to a 4-2 record on the season with their win over Tennessee.
