Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson was once known for being a passer who simply struggled when dealing with pressure in the pocket. Over the years, Jackson has worked to shift this narrative regarding his play.

Just this season, Jackson has had his way when facing any kind of pressure from opposing defenses. According to Pro Football Focus, Jackson boasts a 54.0 completion percentage when under pressure, which is tied with Washington Commanders quarterback Sam Howell for the fifth-best mark among qualified passers.

Overall, Jackson (614 yards, five TDs) is one of three quarterbacks this season who have tallied at least 600 passing yards and five touchdown passes when pressured. Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts (672 yards, six TDs) and Minnesota Vikings passer Kirk Cousins (670 yards, eight TDs) are the only other quarterbacks who have racked up such numbers in the 2023 campaign.

Whether it has been with quick passes or throws on the run, Jackson has continued to be just one step ahead of opposing defenses.

Jackson will be in for quite a test in Baltimore’s upcoming Week 9 matchup against the Seattle Seahawks. Seattle currently leads the NFC in total sacks with 26.

Jackson and the Ravens will look to pick up a win over the Seahawks to move to a 7-2 record on the season.
