Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson’s overall performance against the Pittsburgh Steelers has garnered mixed reviews from many. According to Pro Football Focus, Jackson had arguably one of the most prolific showings of his career in Week 5.
PFF handed Jackson an overall player grade of 94.6 and a passing grade of 93.4 for his outing against Pittsburgh — both of which are new season highs for him. Detroit Lions’ Jared Goff (93.9) and Buffalo Bills’ Josh Allen (91.5) are the only other quarterbacks who PFF have issued a player grade of at least 90.0 for Week 5.
Jackson turned the football over twice against the Steelers, but he was quite accurate on his downfield throws. PFF noted that the two-time Pro Bowler went 9-for-20 for 163 yards on throws targeted 10 or more yards downfield in the divisional contest, and he had five drops on such passes.
Jackson’s weapons on offense did not help him out much in this edition of the Ravens and Steelers rivalry. The Ravens logged seven drops on Sunday, which is more than they had through their opening four games of the season (five). Three of those drops came from tight end Mark Andrews, who hauled in six catches for 65 receiving yards in the game.
Overall, Jackson now holds a 1-3 record as a starter against the Steelers.
