Baltimore Ravens wideout Zay Flowers has so far managed to live up to the high expectations that were placed on him ahead of the season. He was a popular preseason pick for the 2023 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year award, and he has emerged as a notable contender for the honor.

For the Ravens players who spend nearly every day with Flowers, they are far from surprised to see him continue to enjoy much success this season. Among them, Ravens wide receiver Nelson Agholor is not shocked by Flowers’ potent start to his rookie campaign.

"[Zay Flowers] practices hard," Agholor said during a press conference ahead of Week 8. "He practices hard. He prepares with great attention to detail.

"I'm super impressed with him; I always have been, and it's important that he has this type of performance because it's a great example of proper preparation and proper work ethic."

It has not taken long for Flowers to become one of Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson’s go-to targets this year. The two built formidable chemistry during the Ravens' OTAs and training camp schedules. Their work in the offseason sure has paid off, as Flowers currently leads the team in both receptions (39) and receiving yards (442).

Flowers and the Ravens will next be in action in Week 8 with a road matchup against the Arizona Cardinals.
