The Baltimore Ravens picked up a comfortable 25-9 win in their Week 1 home matchup against the Houston Texans. Unfortunately for Baltimore, the main storyline from the game has centered on the four players on the team who came away from the contest with a notable injury.

Among them, Ravens running back J.K. Dobbins tore his Achilles during the third quarter of the win over Houston. Ravens head coach John Harbaugh confirmed after the game that the fourth-year running back will miss the remainder of the season due to the injury.

If there is one player on the Ravens roster whom Dobbins could go to for advice on overcoming a season-ending injury, it sure is Odell Beckham Jr. As with Dobbins, Beckham has suffered two season-ending ailments in his career, including a torn ACL injury sustained in Super Bowl 56 that ended up sidelining him for the entirety of the 2022 campaign.

For Beckham, he plans to simply be there for Dobbins if needed.

"It's the ugly part of this game," Beckham said after the game. "And these people are your brothers; you [experience] blood, sweat and tears with them. It's a sick feeling that I have over me just to know that that's what happened. So, my prayers go out to him [J.K. Dobbins] and his family.

“I texted him. I said, 'Wherever you need me, whatever you need from me, I'm there at the drop of a dime.'"

At the end of the day, Beckham sees that the Ravens will need to move forward with a "next-man-up mentality.”

"It's the same across the board," Beckham said. “It's always been that next-man-up mentality, and it sucks to say, because this is truly your brother. But we have no choice but to play for him [J.K. Dobbins]. Those running backs have no choice but to play for him, to run for him and just find a way to make him proud.

"So, my prayers go out to him and his family. J.K., you know we love you."

The Ravens reportedly plan to activate Melvin Gordon off the practice squad ahead of Week 2. If this move comes to fruition, Baltimore would then have Gus Edwards, Justice Hill and Gordon as options to lead its ground game against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 2.
