The Baltimore Ravens invested a lot into wide receiver Rashod Bateman back in 2021 by using a first-round pick on him. So far, it hasn't been the smoothest ride.
Bateman was placed on injured reserve to start his rookie campaign after having groin surgery. He racked up 515 yards and a touchdown in 12 games with four starts.
Last season, Bateman wasn't able to get his feet under him consistently as multiple foot injuries put him on season-ending injured reserve in November and resulted in lisfranc surgery. In six games, Bateman caught 15 passes for 285 yards and two scores.
Now, Bateman will start the Ravens 2023 training camp on the PUP list.
According to Jamison Hensley of ESPN, Bateman is still dealing with his foot injury. So this is a cautious move by the Ravens.
The Ravens placed Bateman on the reserve/did not report list last week. However, he was reinstated and activated on Monday.
Injuries have put a big damper on the start of Bateman's. Hopefully, this will be his last bump in the road for a while.
