As soon as the Baltimore Ravens were locked in with a meeting against the Buffalo Bills in the Divisional Round of the playoffs, the sportsbooks had it pegged for a close game. The Ravens opened as 1.5-point underdogs to the Bills once the latter took down the Denver Broncos Sunday afternoon.

That line has since changed.

The Ravens have become 1.5-point favorites over the Bills as of Monday afternoon, a full 3-point swing in favor of the road team in a span of 24 hours.

As the Bills Chat Podcast points out via X/Twitter, the Bills haven't been home underdogs in over four years, and it was under the assumption that Buffalo would rest its starters.

The Bills were home underdogs three times during the 2020 season. They've only been favored to win at home since then. This wouldn't be the only streak that would break if this line holds. The last time a road team was favored in the Divisional Round was when the Atlanta Falcons failed to cover a 2.5-point spread against the eventual Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles in the 2017 playoffs.

Baltimore has never been a road favorite in this round of the playoffs, but they have been road favorites in the playoffs three times in their 29-year history.

They won all three games, all in the Wild Card Round.

The Ravens defeated the Miami Dolphins, 27-9, as 3.5-point favorites in John Harbaugh's first playoff victory in the 2008 season. They secured another blowout victory by a score of 30-7 over the Kansas City Chiefs a couple years later following the 2010 season as 3-point favorites. Their most recent win was in the 2020 playoffs over the Tennessee Titans, 20-13, as 3.5-point favorites.

Winning in Buffalo following the regular season is hard to do. The only teams to win playoff games in Highmark Stadium this century were the 2022 Cincinnati Bengals and 2023 Kansas City Chiefs.

The Ravens will look to make it three-straight home playoff exits for the Bills this Sunday.
