The Baltimore Ravens brought in cornerback Ronald Darby for a visit on Thursday due to the injury to All-Pro Marlon Humphrey that will cost him a few games and others at the position battling issues.
Darby made quite the impression as just hours later, the Ravens signed him to a one-year deal worth $3.2 million, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
The only healthy corners the Ravens had before the Darby addition were Brandon Stephens, Kevon Seymour, and Ar'Darius Washington. So, to say this was a necessary signing is an understatement.
Darby was taken in the second round in 2015 by the Buffalo Bills. He's played in 89 games with 88 starts logging 373 tackles, eight interceptions, and 90 pass breakups.
2022 was a rough year for Darby as he only played in five games due to suffering a torn ACL in Week 5. Darby has only played one full season throughout his career (2020).
He may have just signed, but Darby could see some significant playing time in 2023 if he comes back strong from his injury.
