The Baltimore Ravens made a bit of history during their home loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The Ravens sacked quarterback Mason Rudolph a total of three times in Week 18. The likes of Jadeveon Clowney and Trenton Simpson were able to get to the veteran passer with ease during the divisional contest.
Baltimore finished the year leading the NFL in sacks with 60. Furthermore, the Ravens tied the franchise mark for the most sacks in a season, as they also logged 60 sacks in the 2006 campaign.
A total of 16 Ravens players tallied at least 1.0 sacks this season. Among them, defensive tackle Justin Madubuike led the way for the reigning AFC North champions with a career-high 13.0 sacks.
At one point earlier in the year, it seemed as if the Ravens were going to go on and break the all-time record for sacks in a season. The Chicago Bears in the 1984 campaign still hold the record for sacks in a single season with 72.0, as noted by StatMuse.
Baltimore sure will need its front seven to rise to the occasion in its upcoming playoff run.
