Baltimore Ravens tight end Mark Andrews made his long-awaited return to practice on Wednesday.
Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said on Monday that Andrews “should” practice on Wednesday, and sure enough, the three-time Pro Bowler was on the field during the day taking part in conditioning work and individual drills.
Harbaugh said during a post-practice press conference on Wednesday that Andrews "looked good" on the day.
Andrews was sidelined from the Ravens’ previous six practices due to an undisclosed injury. He was able to take part in some individual work with trainers last week, but still, the team did not give him the green light to practice.
Now, Andrews is trending in the right direction to feature in the Ravens’ regular-season opener against the Houston Texans. All eyes will be on whether he will take part in Baltimore’s final two practices before its home clash with Houston, but barring a setback, the veteran tight end should suit up in Week 1.
Andrews is just coming off of a productive 2022 season with the Ravens in which he hauled in 73 receptions for 847 receiving yards and five touchdown catches. He has tallied at least 700 receiving yards in each of his last four seasons.
