On the heels of a promising NFL debut, Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Zay Flowers managed to put together an encore performance in Week 2.

Flowers tallied four receptions for 62 receiving yards in the Ravens' road win against the Bengals. 52 out of the rookie’s 62 receiving yards on the day came on a first down play in the third quarter. Even as he was double-teamed downfield, he wound up bringing in one of the most impressive catches by any rookie this season.

Before Flowers hauled in the career-high catch, he told Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson to simply trust him.

"We had it earlier and I just told ‘L’ [Lamar Jackson] when I got back to the sideline, I was like, ‘Bro trust me, throw this one,'" Flowers told BaltimoreRavens.com’s Garrett Downing. "He threw it and we had to go make a play.”

When asked what was his mindset before the play, Flowers kept it simple with his response.

“Just go get the ball," Flowers said.

Flowers currently ranks second among all rookies this season in both receptions (13) and receiving yards (140). Los Angeles Rams wideout Puka Nacua holds the top spot in this leaderboard, as he has recorded 25 catches for 266 receiving yards.

Flowers sure is emerging as an early contender for this year’s NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year honor.
