The Baltimore Ravens needed the best out of Lamar Jackson in their home matchup against the Los Angeles Rams, and they got just that.
Jackson led the way in Baltimore’s 37-31 overtime win over the Rams. The sixth-year passer threw three touchdown passes in the contest, and he also anchored six scoring drives. For one, he capped off a 13-play, 75-yard drive with a 21-yard touchdown pass to Zay Flowers in the fourth quarter.
Ravens head coach John Harbaugh has had a front-row seat to watch Jackson put up video game-like numbers over the years, and he continues to be left in awe of the two-time Pro Bowler.
"Lamar deserves so much credit," Harbaugh said during his postgame press conference. "You forget Lamar sometimes. All these other things are happening, and we’re not going to talk about Lamar Jackson, who drove the offense. … Runs around, scrambles, finds guys downfield. He’s a very unique player, and most of the time it works out really great, just like any player.
"He’s one of a kind. There’s nobody like Lamar Jackson."
Jackson had plenty to prove on the Ravens' late touchdown drive in the fourth quarter. There has been much outside talk this season over whether Jackson can deliver when it matters the most, and he did just that against the Rams.
"Just proving we can make it happen," Jackson said during his postgame press conference. "When we really need it, we’re down, trying to win the game, we don’t want to put them back out there on the field, but we just have to score. We got to score, and we delivered."
Jackson's touchdown pass to Flowers was the third fourth-quarter passing touchdown of his season.
The Ravens now hold a 0.5-game lead over the Miami Dolphins for the No. 1 seed in the AFC.
