Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Zay Flowers has already shattered a few records this season.

Among them, Flowers recently broke the Ravens team record for receptions in a season by a rookie. He moved past former wideout Torrey Smith for the top spot on the leaderboard after he hauled in the 51st catch of his rookie campaign during the Ravens’ home win against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Flowers is closing in on breaking another one of Smith’s records.

Smith logged 841 receiving yards in the 2011 season with Baltimore, which still stands today as the record for the most such yards by a rookie in franchise history. Flowers sits in second place on this list with 613 receiving yards, and it sure is only a matter of time before the former Boston College standout takes hold of the record. He is averaging 51.1 receiving yards per game this season, and at this rate, he is on pace to break the mark during Baltimore’s Week 18 home matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Flowers sure has already surpassed expectations in his first year with the Ravens. He leads the team in multiple stats, including in receptions (58).

Flowers continues to make a strong case to finish in the top five in the voting for the 2023 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year award.
