Not every free agent signing works out well when it comes to the NFL and the Buffalo Bills were just reminded of it as their relationship with cornerback Cameron Dantzler didn't make it past the honeymoon phase.

Dantzler, a former third-round draft pick, was signed on June 7th, right toward the end of OTAs. The Bills probably hoped he could be a solid addition for training camp but he's being waived with an injury designation just a few days into camp, the team announced.

According to ESPN's Alaina Getzenberg, "(Dantzler) came to practice late on Thursday without his helmet and did not participate."

The Bills did add an immediate replacement though as they're signing CB Kyron Brown. A former undrafted free agent who first signed with the New York Jets in 2019, the 27-year-old has also had brief stints with the Dallas Cowboys and Tennessee Titans.

In four career games, Brown has played 53 defensive snaps and 47 special teams snaps.

In college, Akron couldn't get him off the field as he played in all 51 games of his career, a school record. Unfortunately, that durability hasn't translated into the NFL as his time with the Jets ended due to a quad injury. With the Cowboys, it was an undisclosed injury that ended things.

Brown joins a Bills cornerback room that has competitions going on from top to bottom. There's no time for him to waste when he gets to camp.
