Another New Orleans Saints staple over the past handful of seasons is headed to Denver. After an active offseason of making many moves, including adding a few former Saints, Sean Payton and the Denver Broncos are picking up running back Dwayne Washington.

Washington had spent the past five seasons with the Saints after starting his career with the Detroit Lions. He played for Sean Payton for a bulk of that time New Orleans, and he was always a valued depth RB and special teams piece.

In five years with New Orleans, Washington totaled 283 rushing yards and 16 tackles on special teams. He was a valued leader in the locker room too, but the Saints did not bring him back in during this offseason.

For the Broncos and Payton, Washington joins wide receivers Marquez Callaway and Lil' Jordan Humphrey, and Adam Trautman as former offensive players that spent time with the Saints. All of them were coached by Payton at some point in New Orleans.
