Buffalo Bills linebacker Von Miller is reportedly facing arrest in Dallas after his pregnant girlfriend accused him of assault, according to WFAA.
Miller is facing a third-degree felony charge after the alleged assault took place in their home in Dallas on Wednesday morning. The warrant has been issued for his arrest, the Dallas Police Department has confirmed.
WFAA's Rebecca Lopez further reports that the Dallas police are trying to get Miller to turn himself in.
The Bills released a statement following Miller's arrest:
“This morning, we were made aware of an incident involving Von Miller. We are in the process of gathering more information and will have no further comment at this point.”
According to the police, Miller put his hands around the woman's neck twice, pulled out a chunk of her hair, and threw her onto the couch. She was reportedly treated for minor injuries.
Dallas News' Jamie Landers provided some additional context, also reporting that Miller "tried to destroy her laptop as she attempted to leave their apartment during an argument."
Miller began his career with the Denver Broncos in 2011, being drafted in the first round, with the second overall pick. There he picked up his first Super Bowl championship with the Broncos in 2016, also being named Super Bowl MVP.
In 2021, he moved to Los Angeles joining the Rams. While he was only there for one season, Miller picked up his second Super Bowl championships.
The Buffalo Bills signed Miller to a six-year, $120 million deal in 2022 and he has been with the team since.
Across his 13 years in the league, Miller has a total of 562 tackles, 123.5 sacks, 27 forced fumbles, nine fumble recoveries, two interceptions, and one touchdown.
